Congratulations Scott. A job well done!

Scott's story of his endeavor to spend 6 weeks recovering the fabric on this 1962 PA-22 Colt was published in the Short Wing Piper News (SWPN). The article was a nice tribute to all the hard work involved in what ended up being a complete restoration.   But what makes our Club proud (and we're sure Scott feels a little taller for), is the fact that he and Jaye flew this beauty to the SWPC meeting near Denver last summer and came away with not only the Best Colt and Original Colt, but GRAND CHAMPION!

Of course the Shelbyville News picked up on the story and published an Article on July 28th, 1999. The accompanying photo showed a proud owner, albeit with a smaller checkbook.

After his cross country to the show at Denver's Centennial Airport, several of your fellow Shelby Aero Club members had the honor to fly with him (well, along side) on a 'Tour' of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan in August. I can attest to the head turning that we all witnessed. I am confused, however, about the mentioning of the 'top speed' of 180 MPH in the paper. I was enlightened when hanging out at GEZ one day, Scott was heard over an open mic saying "plug your ears kids, Dad has to descend".                                 Seriously, what a wonderful looking aircraft. Our Kudos.

Scott and Jaye Brunner
